Join Voices for Children for the fourth annual Uplifting Voices. Enjoy light bites, cocktails, and the breathtaking ocean views of Del Mar Plaza as the organization celebrates 45 years of vital work providing life-changing advocacy for children in our community through our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program.
The program will feature acclaimed civil rights lawyer and New York Times bestselling author Andrew Bridge, an advocate who has dedicated his life to fighting for vulnerable children. He will discuss his latest book, "The Child Catcher: A Fight for Justice and Truth," a grand prize winner of the 2024 Reader Views Literary Awards.
Drawing from his experience representing children at Alabama’s Eufaula Adolescent Center, Andrew offers insight into the challenges within the child welfare and mental health systems. Having grown up in foster care himself, his personal connection to the cause brings an emotional depth to his storytelling. Through thoughtful research and firsthand experiences, he highlights the need for meaningful reforms, emphasizing the power of advocacy and resilience in creating positive change.
