National Volunteer Week is a time set aside to recognize those who volunteer to make their community a better place. This year’s campaign, from April 15-21, 2018, is focused around the theme, “Celebrate Service.” Voices for Children joins organizations and communities across the country by honoring the dedication and generosity of our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers.
As an organization centered around volunteers, we are particularly aware of the impact community members can have.
- Currently, more than 1,500 individuals serve as CASA volunteers, each supporting at least one child or sibling group.
- Together, our staff and volunteers will advocate on behalf of more than 3,000 children this year.
- So far this fiscal year, our CASAs have reported more than 50,000 donated hours — spending time with their case children, communicating with other professionals on the case, and writing court reports to help judges make informed decisions.
