Suzy Garcia
Director of Marketing & Communications
Suzy Garcia brings more than 15 years of experience working across functions with non-profits. Most recently, Suzy was the Director of Public Relations at a local agency specializing in strategic communications for non-profits and socially responsible companies. Her clients ranged from the United Way of San Diego County and the National Conflict Resolution Center to Susan G. Komen San Diego and numerous others. Her efforts were recently recognized by SD Metro Magazine as she was named one of San Diego’s "40 Under 40." In 2019, she was honored as a North County Philanthropy Council - Volunteer of the Year.
Previous to that, Suzy served as Director of Business Development for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) of San Diego/Imperial Counties and Las Vegas, where she received the Elks Citizen of the Year Award for community relations and advocacy efforts through her commitment to improving resources for families battling neuromuscular diseases.
She’s close to the Voices for Children mission personally as she was once a foster child herself, having the fortune of finding a loving home at the age of six.
Suzy is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists San Diego/Tijuana chapter, the Asian American Journalist Association’s San Diego Chapter, and the San Diego Press Club.
